What are some highly regarded private colleges in Florida?

I'm a junior from Texas, but I've always loved the idea of studying in Florida. Anyone have suggestions for some good private colleges to check out in Florida? Particularly interested in the sciences.

Florida offers several notable private colleges known for their strong programs, especially in sciences. Here are a few you should definitely check out:

1. University of Miami: It's a research-heavy institution with strong programs in marine biology, nursing, and physical therapy.

2. Nova Southeastern University: Known for its programs in nursing, biology, and business. It's also home to the Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography.

3. Rollins College: This liberal arts school offers plenty of research opportunities for students and the Holt School at Rollins has an Applied Liberal Arts Program focused on professional studies.

4. Eckerd College: If you're interested in marine biology, this might be a great fit as it's located on the Gulf Coast and offers strong programs in Marine Science.

5. Florida Institute of Technology: If you lean more towards the engineering or tech side, Florida Tech, despite being smaller, has strong programs in aero/astro engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science, though it does offer sciences like biology and chemistry as well.

Remember, it's essential to not only consider the academic aspects but also look at the school culture, financial aid options, and life outside the classroom. I'd suggest visiting their websites, taking virtual tours, and if possible, visiting in person to get a better feel for the environment. And as always, the match extends beyond academics - it's about how well the school fits with your personal goals and values. Happy researching!
