What does attending Bucknell University realistically cost?

Hi y’all, I’m doing the college search and Bucknell University caught my eye. Can anyone shed light on what I’d roughly be paying? And what about housing, meal plans, and stuff like that? Thanx!

Bucknell University, as a private institution, will have a higher sticker price compared to most public universities. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the estimated total cost of attendance (which includes tuition, fees, room, board, books, and personal expenses) is approximately $85,000. This is a rough estimate and the actual amount may vary.

Breaking it down further, the tuition stands around $67,500 and the combined room and board cost is around $17,000. Keep in mind, these amounts are estimated averages and can fluctuate based on your individual requirements such as the type of housing you choose, your meal plan, and personal spending habits.

Remember, financial aid can significantly offset these costs. Bucknell provides need-based aid and merit scholarships which can greatly reduce your actual out-of-pocket expenses. As a result, the net price you'll actually pay could be far less than the sticker price, depending on your family's financial situation and any scholarships you might earn.

If you haven't already, I recommend using Bucknell's Net Price Calculator (https://npc.collegeboard.org/app/bucknell), which will give you a better idea of what you can expect to pay based on your family's specific financial situation.

Lastly, do check for any extra costs or fees which might not be included in these estimates, like travel costs for students who live far away, course-specific fees, or health insurance if you're not covered under a parent's plan. These additional expenses can add up and should be included in your budgeting for college.

Keep in mind these are estimations and actual amounts may vary. Good luck in your college search!
