Looking for SAT Requirements at Syracuse

Hey everyone, I'm looking at Syracuse University as a potential option for my studies. I wanted to find out about their SAT requirements. Could someone give me some information about their expectations, whether they have a high requirement on a particular section or overall?

Syracuse University is currently operating with a "test-optional" policy for the 2024-2025 application cycle, just as many other universities are. What this means for you is that you may choose whether or not to submit your SAT scores. If you believe your scores will strengthen your application, you should submit them. However, if you feel that your SAT scores are lower than you'd like, or do not accurately represent your academic abilities, you can still choose to withhold them.

Based on the most recent data, the middle 50% SAT range was between 1280 and 1410. This means that, in a typical year, 25% of accepted students scored below 1280, 25% scored above 1410, and the remaining 50% fell within that range. However, this range is not a hard requirement, students can be accepted with scores outside of these values. It is just one factor considered in admissions.

The University does not specify a higher requirement for one section over another - they're interested in your overall performance on the test. It is also important to remember that while your SAT score can play a significant role in your application, it's not the only factor Syracuse considers. Your GPA, your course rigor, your extracurricular activities, leadership roles, community service, and your personal essays also play a very significant role in the evaluation of your application.

So, in conclusion, if you have already taken the SAT and feel that your scores would enhance your application, you should definitely submit them. If you're still in the process of preparing to take the SAT, aim to fall within or exceed Syracuse's typical middle 50% range, though don't stress too much over it because of their test-optional policy. Do your best, and remember that the most important thing is showcasing who you are as a person and a student through all elements of your application.
