Two Associate's Degrees and the Military?

Hi everyone! I'm a little stressed. Currently, I have two Associate's Degrees (don't ask, it's a long story). I'm considering enlisting in the military, but I want to know if having these degrees would give me an edge or something? Is it even worthwhile mentioning? Can an Associate's Degree count for anything, or is it all about Bachelors? Thanks in advance!

Hello! Serving in the military can be a rewarding experience, and holding an Associate's Degree may indeed give you some benefits. When you enlist, the military generally looks at your education level to determine your starting rank. With two Associate's Degrees, you might be eligible to enlist at a higher pay grade, depending on the service branch.

It's worth mentioning that each branch of the military has its own policies regarding educational credentials. Some branches might value your degrees more than others.

It's definitely worthwhile to mention your educational background during the enlistment process. The military tends to value education, and having two degrees shows a level of dedication and discipline that the military respects. Even if it doesn't directly affect your rank or pay grade, it could be beneficial in other ways, such as during training or assignments.

Keep in mind that higher education can also be a factor should you decide to commission as an officer later on in your career. While a Bachelor's Degree is typically required for officer positions, your existing education might lead to opportunities to earn your Bachelor's through programs offered by the military.

Please contact a recruiter for the branch you're interested in for the most accurate information. Remember, you have to ensure that this path aligns with your personal goals and interests. Best of luck!
