Hey guys, amid all the craziness of Junior year and the looming college applications, I'm considering the military as well. I'm curious, with everything happening around COVID-19, is the vaccine required to join the military? Dropping in hope of getting some input. Thanks!
Hello! The COVID-19 vaccine is no longer a requirement for joining the military. The Department of Defense (DoD) rescinded the COVID-19 vaccine mandate in 2023.
It's important to note that the military does have other vaccine requirements. The military requires immunizations against diseases like measles, mumps, rubella, and others as part of its standard medical readiness criteria.
As with any major decision, it's always a good idea to do additional research and talk to a recruiter or someone familiar with military enlistment process to understand all the requirements and commitments involved.
Best of luck with your decisions for the future!
