Is joining the military a popular choice for high school grads?

So, I'm a junior in high school, and given the insane amount of student debt I see older friends accumulating, I've considered going the military route. I'm just curious, among high school students who graduate, what's the percentage of those who choose to join the military? It might give me a sense of how common it is to take this path.

While it is not the most common choice after high school, many students do indeed choose the military path, mainly because of the unique benefits it offers, like skill training, tuition assistance, and healthcare, to name a few.

Specific percentages can fluctuate from year to year and can depend on other factors like current economic conditions and military needs. However, data suggests that around 1-2% of high school graduates join the military after graduation. Though this might seem like a small percentage, this amounts to thousands of students each year across the country.

Remember, the most important thing is that whatever path you choose aligns with your personal goals and aspirations. Be it university, military, vocational training, or starting your career straight away, each path offers its own set of experiences and opportunities.
