Opinions on the hardest college majors?

Hi everyone! I've been trying to narrow down potential college majors, but I keep hearing about how some majors are incredibly hard. Has anyone seen a reliable ranking for the hardest college majors? I want to know what I'm getting into.

There isn't a definitive ranking of hardest college majors since difficulty can vary from person to person based on their personal strengths, interests, and the amount of effort they're willing to put into their studies. However, we can look at the majors often cited as challenging by students based on the volume and complexity of the coursework involved.

Traditionally, the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) are considered some of the most challenging. Courses like Biomedical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Physics often require intense study, numerous hours on assignments and in labs, and a high level of mathematical understanding.

Similarly, majors in the health sciences, such as Nursing or Pre-Med, can be stress-inducing given the nature of their coursework, clinical hours, and the high stakes of the medical field.

It's also necessary to mention that humanities and social science majors, such as Philosophy, Literature, or Sociology, can be demanding, requiring a high degree of analytical thinking, extensive reading, and rigorous writing.

However, regardless of the major's perceived difficulty, it's important to pursue a field that aligns with your interests and long-term career goals. If you genuinely enjoy the subject matter, the challenge can become motivating rather than off-putting. Remember, your college experience will include more than just your major, so consider your personal interests and professional goals carefully.
