What high school classes should I take if I want to join the military?

Y'all, I'm fairly intent on joining the military after high school, been thinking hard on this for a while. Does anyone have suggestions on what high school classes would best prepare me for this path? Any help would be awesome!

For those interested in joining the military after high school, there aren’t necessarily specific classes you must take, but classes that emphasize fitness, teamwork, leadership, and practical skills can certainly help prepare you.

1. Physical Education: Because the military requires you to be in good physical condition, participating in physical education classes can help you get in shape and stay in shape.

2. JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps): If your high school offers it, this program offers exposure to military structure, discipline, and basic principles. It can also open up scholarship opportunities.

3. STEM classes: Subjects such as math, science, and engineering are important due to their prevalence in military professions such as aviation, mechanical maintenance, and others.

4. History/Civics: To better understand the context, roles, and responsibilities of the military, classes in U.S. history, government, and civics could be helpful.

5. Foreign Language: If you're interested in intelligence or diplomatic roles, learning a foreign language could be advantageous. It's especially useful to focus on languages that are important to national security, such as Arabic, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Farsi, etc.

Remember that alongside these specific courses, it’s essential to maintain a strong overall academic record. In addition to the coursework, remember that developing leadership qualities, teamwork skills, and discipline can all contribute to your success in a military career. Good luck!
