School Disciplinary Records to the Military?

Feeling kinda anxious about this one guys, some stuff happened at school - nothing too bad, just some discipline issues here and there. However, I'm worried about it affecting my future. Can the military request disciplinary records from high schools? It's stressing me out.

It's good to see that you're considering your future actions and how past occurrences might affect them. Now, regarding your question about the military and school discipline records, it's important to note that the enlistment process primarily revolves around your performance on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), passing a fitness test, and clearing background and security checks.

Just to clarify, in general, the military doesn't request disciplinary records from high schools. The military can, however, ask about your criminal history or other indiscretions during the application process or during a security clearance interview. In most cases, minor disciplinary issues at school won't affect your eligibility unless they resulted in a criminal charge or conviction.

The security clearance investigation, for roles requiring such, involves a comprehensive background check that can uncover criminal history or other major violations, but generally doesn't delve into high school disciplinary actions. The most critical part here is full disclosure - honesty is essential when dealing with military recruiters and personnel. If asked about disciplinary issues, it's best to be honest from the onset.

At the end of the day, it's important not to dwell too much on past mistakes, but to see them as lessons learned. Use them to propel yourself forward, improving wherever necessary, and showing growth. Good luck with your future endeavors, whatever they might be!
