Getting High School Diploma in the Military?

Can you get your high school diploma while being in the military? I'm considering enlisting but I haven't finished high school yet. Wondering if this might be a feasible path for me.

Absolutely, there are opportunities to earn your high school diploma while serving in the military. The U.S. Armed Forces, for example, offers several programs to help service members complete their high school education.

The Army, in particular, provides the Army Continuing Education System (ACES) which offers a variety of programs, one of them being the High School Completion Program. This program gives soldiers the option to earn a high school diploma or a GED. The program is open to all active duty members of the Army, Army Reserves, Army National Guard, as well as Department of the Army civilians.

The Navy also has the Navy College Program, which provides sailors with equivalent high school completion courses. For the Airforce, there's the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) that provides similar opportunities.

However, keep in mind that each branch of the military has specific education requirements for enlistment. Most require a high school diploma or GED at minimum, so you'll want to confirm the specific requirements with a recruiter.

In summary, while the military can certainly be a pathway towards earning your high school diploma, it's important to speak with a recruiter or other military representative to understand the specific requirements and programs offered by each branch. Remember, your decision to join the military should be based on a range of factors and not just the educational opportunities. Make sure that it aligns with your personal goals and values.
