Free Military High Schools in Georgia?

Hey, guys! Has anyone here been to a free military high school in Georgia or knows someone who has? Considering that option and just trying to get an idea of what the experience is like. Public, private, both--doesn't matter. Any insights would be helpful, thanks!

Sure, I can suggest a couple of military high schools in Georgia. Keep in mind that these schools can provide a different kind of educational experience with a focus on discipline, leadership, and citizenship.

1. Riverside Military Academy: While not entirely free, Riverside does offer merit-based scholarships and need-based financial aid, making it more affordable for some families. It's located in Gainesville, Georgia, and is a college preparatory school for boys in grades 6-12. Cadets are required to participate in JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) classes and activities. The campus setting is quite scenic and offers a range of extracurricular activities.

2. Georgia Military College Prep School: This is a public independent educational system, which operates a Middle School (Grades 6-8) and a High School (Grades 9-12). It's located in Milledgeville, Georgia. As a public school, tuition is free for in-state students who meet the entry requirements. The school emphasizes character development, leadership, and service, alongside a comprehensive academic program.

While these schools indeed infuse military-style discipline into their curriculum, they also provide a robust academic program and various extracurricular activities to ensure that students are well-rounded individuals. As with any school option, I suggest touring the campuses, speaking with current students, and understanding what the day-to-day life of a cadet looks like to understand if it would be a good fit for you. Remember that military schools can be quite rigorous both academically and physically, which is not always the suitable approach for everyone.
