Military training in high school?

Hi everyone, I'm pretty set on entering the military after graduation. But is there some kind of military training program that I can take part in while still in high school? If so, could you recommend a couple for me to look into?

Absolutely, there are programs you can participate in during high school to get a feel for military training and life. One such organization is the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC). This is a program sponsored by the United States Armed Forces in high schools across the country, and its goal is to educate students in citizenship, promote community service, and instill responsibility and character, along with providing instruction in military customs and traditions.

Another option is the Civil Air Patrol (CAP). This program serves as the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force. CAP's cadet programs provide a regimented curriculum including aerospace education, leadership training, physical fitness, and moral leadership.

Sea Cadets and Young Marines are similar programs related to the Navy and Marine Corps, respectively.

Finally, some high schools have specific partnerships with local military bases or organizations for more specialized programs.

It's always good to keep in mind that you are still in high school and your academic studies are just as important. So, it's essential to balance any military training with your schoolwork. Be sure to check with your high school guidance counselor too, they can often provide more localized suggestions and support in accessing such programs.
