Curious About Johnson and Wales Tuition

Hey everyone, I'm currently a junior very interested in Johnson and Wales. I'm trying to do some budgeting right now and just can’t seem to find a ballpark figure for the tuition and other related costs. Can anybody here help me out? What's the cost of room & board, textbooks, etc? Is out-of-state tuition vastly different from in-state?

Sure, I'd be happy to help with that. The cost of attending Johnson & Wales University can vary depending on several variables, including the specific campus you're considering. However, taking their Providence campus as an example, which is the one most people typically think of, the estimated tuition and fees for the 2024-2025 academic year is about $42,000.

As far as I know, Johnson & Wales doesn't differentiate between in-state and out-of-state tuition. So, that should be the same amount regardless of where you're coming from.

As for room and board, these costs also depend on the specifics, like whether you choose a single or double room, and what meal plan you opt for. But typically, you can expect these costs to be in the range of about $13,000 to $15,000 per year.

Textbooks, supplies, personal expenses, and transportation are all additional expenses you'll want to plan for. These costs can vary widely depending on your major, your personal spending habits, and how often you plan to travel home, but a general estimate might be between $2000 to $4000 a year.

Please remember that these numbers are not exact and may vary. I would recommend reaching out to the financial aid office at Johnson & Wales for the most precise and up-to-date information. They can give you an accurate estimate based on your particular circumstances. Be sure to inquire about any available financial aid or scholarship opportunities that could potentially offset these costs. Always keep in mind that the sticker price you see initially might not reflect what you actually end up paying.
