Are there any good Military High Schools on Long Island?

Hi folks. Right now I'm a junior and I'm seriously considering going down the route of a military high school. I've already started my research and I'm wondering if there are any reputable military high schools in Long Island, NY I should have on my radar.

Military high schools can provide a solid foundation for students interested in pursuing military or related disciplines. However, on Long Island, NY, a military high school per se doesn't exist. However, there are alternative options you may want to consider:

- There are private schools with JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps) programs that provide military-style education and discipline as part of their curriculum. JROTC programs can be an excellent way to experience aspects of military training and leadership while still in high school. You can check if any of your local private schools or public schools offer this program.

- Additionally, you may want to consider day student enrollment option to a military boarding school in the tri-state area. For instance, the New York Military Academy, located in Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY, is a well-established coeducational military school. Accepting boarders and day students, NYMA offers a comprehensive military-oriented curriculum with a focus on character development, leadership, and citizenship.

Remember, a military-style education isn't the only path towards a career in the armed forces. You may also want to consider joining a service academy, college ROTC program, or enlisting after high school graduation. It's also crucial that you have a thorough understanding of what a military education entails and that it aligns with your career and personal goals. I advise you to reach out to a guidance counselor or a military recruitment officer to get all the information you need to make an informed decision. Good luck in your research and decision process.
