Official vs Unofficial High School Transcripts for Military

So, I'm kind of stressed about whether to submit an official or unofficial high school transcript for military applications. Does it even matter? And if so, which one do they prefer? Thanks in advance for all the help!

When applying to the military, specifically during the enlistment process, you're generally expected to submit an official copy of your high school transcript. The reason for this is that an official transcript, which is sent directly from your school to the military branch you're applying to, provides a verified account of your academic record. This is important as it confirms that you meet the educational prerequisites for service.

The necessity of an official transcript becomes even more crucial if you're applying to a military academy. These institutions, such as West Point or the Naval Academy, have a competitive application process that is akin to applying to universities, and require an official transcript.

However, unofficial transcripts or copies of your diploma may still be usable during the initial stages of your military application process, such as when meeting with a recruiter. But, in most cases, an official transcript will be required before you can officially enlist or be accepted into a military school.

Remember, it's always good practice to verify any application requirements directly with the military branch or specific program to which you're applying. Good luck with your application, and thank you in advance for your prospective service!
