FBI Agents and Military Deployment?

This might seem a bit too specific, but I'm fond of the idea of becoming an FBI agent. Suppose I do reach that goal, is there even a chance that I could be deployed on a military operation? It's not necessarily a make-or-break thing, but it would definitely feed into my decision-making process.

FBI agents and military personnel have distinct roles and responsibilities, operating within separate systems of the U.S. government. The FBI, under the Department of Justice, is a civilian agency responsible for enforcing federal laws and conducting domestic intelligence and security service. On the other hand, the various branches of the military, such as the Army or the Marine Corps, fall under the Department of Defense and focus on defending the security of the United States and its interests abroad.

In general, FBI agents are not deployed on military operations. They don't serve in combat roles unless extremely special circumstances require it. However, the FBI does have a major role in counterterrorism efforts, and its agents can be involved in the investigative and intelligence aspects of these operations. This can entail working domestically or in certain cases stationed abroad as legal attachés at U.S. embassies where they facilitate investigations and liaisons between the FBI and local law enforcement.

As for a military-like experience within the FBI, agents often receive tactical training and can participate in the field as part of the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team or SWAT teams. These positions could involve high-risk operations that are similar to military situations.

To summarize, while there's some overlap in the sense of protecting the national security, becoming an FBI agent won't typically mean being deployed on military operations. Instead, your work would largely focus on investigations and law enforcement activities.
