TCU tuition and fees?

Hello good people! I've been eyeing TCU and I'm curious about the tuition. Does anyone know what it costs? I'd also appreciate any insight into other expenses - like room and board, textbooks, etc. Thanks for helping a junior out!

Sure, happy to provide some information. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the tuition and fees at TCU (Texas Christian University) are approximately $61,650. Keep in mind that this cost is just the base tuition and fees, not including housing, meal plans, textbooks, or personal expenses.

The school estimates that room and board is an additional $16,700. This depends on your housing selection and meal plan, of course, but it's a fair placeholder number to work with.

On top of that, you'll want to budget for textbooks and supplies. While this can widely vary depending on your major and classes, a good estimate is around $800 per year.

So, if you add all these together, the total estimated cost of attendance is approximately $79,240 for the academic year.

Remember that many students don't actually end up paying the full sticker price. Financial aid (federal, state, and institutional), grants, and scholarships can significantly reduce these costs. Be sure to use TCU's net price calculator (https://financialaid.tcu.edu/cost/net-price-calculator.php) to get a better sense of what you might actually pay—it takes into account your family’s financial situation and any potential need-based aid. You can find this on TCU's financial aid website.

Remember that tuition and costs can change from year to year, so it's beneficial for you to check directly with the university's website or their finance/financial aid office for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
