Look for Colleges Accepting 3.5 GPA

Hi everyone, got a bit of a concern about my 3.5 GPA. Is it considered competitive for college admissions? What colleges are typically accepting students with a GPA like mine?

A 3.5 GPA is generally considered to be a solid GPA and can make you competitive for a number of colleges. However, remember that college admissions depend on a host of factors and not just your GPA. This includes your SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities, and personal essays.

That said, here are some colleges where a 3.5 GPA could be a competitive applicant, depending on the other parts of the application:

- Fordham University: In New York City, Fordham offers strong programs in business, performing arts, and more.

- University of Washington: A large state school with excellent programs in computer science, social sciences, and business amongst others.

- Loyola University Chicago: With no application fee, Loyola offers a diverse range of programs with a strength in health sciences.

- University of California schools, such as UC Santa Cruz and UC Riverside: Although the UC system has a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 for CA residents and 3.4 for out-of-state applicants, remember these schools are also test-blind so extracurricular activities carry a lot of weight.

- Baylor University: A private Christian university in Waco, Texas, known for its pre-medical programs.

Please remember that competitive GPAs can vary greatly depending on the colleges and even the specific programs within those institutions, these options listed should just serve as a reference point. It's recommended to thoroughly research each prospective college's admission requirements to gain a better understanding. Good luck!
