How much is the out-of-state tuition for CU Boulder?

My friends and I are super into skiing and we’ve heard great things about the University of Colorado Boulder. I live out of state though and I know that can influence the cost big time. Can anyone give me a rundown of what the tuition might look like for an out-of-state student at CU Boulder?

As of the 2024-2025 academic year, the tuition cost for an out-of-state student attending the University of Colorado Boulder is about $43,624 per year. Remember, this is just tuition and does not take into account other costs that could come into play. You'll also need to consider important factors like room and board, textbooks, personal expenses, and transportation, which can total an additional estimated $19,000, bringing the total cost of attendance to about $62,618 per year.

Keep in mind that these are just the sticker prices. The net price, or the amount you actually pay after scholarships and financial aid, can often be much lower. It's always a good idea to use the net price calculator on the CU Boulder website to get a more accurate estimate of what your own costs might be. Additionally, some out-of-state students may be eligible for the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program, which can significantly reduce tuition costs.

Just remember to apply for any and all scholarships you're eligible for, as well as financial aid through the FAFSA. Every little bit helps when it comes to financing your education!
