AP Spanish Exams Timeframe

Hola amigos! I'm taking both the AP Spanish Language and Culture exam and the AP Spanish Literature exam this year. Can someone tell me how much time each of these exams takes? Want to make sure I’m mentally prepared for the duration of these tests. Thanks!

Hola! It's great to hear you're challenging yourself with both AP Spanish exams. The AP Spanish Language and Culture exam typically lasts around three hours and 15 minutes. This includes a 95-minute section of multiple-choice and free-response questions, followed by an approximately 85-minute free-response section, which consists of four tasks that assess your interpersonal writing, presentational speaking, interpersonal speaking, and presentational writing skills.

As for the AP Spanish Literature and Culture exam, it's a little shorter, with a total testing time of around three hours. This exam consists of a 65-minute multiple-choice section and a 100-minute free-response section, which includes short answers and essay responses to analyze texts.

Keep in mind to arrive early to your testing location to allow for check-in procedures and setting up, which adds a bit more time to your overall testing experience. Make sure to practice pacing yourself as you prepare for the exams so that you'll be comfortable with the timing on test day. ¡Buena suerte en tus exámenes!
