Calculating GPA for Tulane - Any Tips?

Hi there, I'm aiming for Tulane and wondering if anyone knows how they calculate the GPA? Any sort of tips would be great.

In terms of calculating GPA for Tulane University, they look at the cumulative high school GPA on a 4.0 scale. They consider both your weighted and unweighted GPA.

Remember that Tulane, like many colleges, values a rigorous course load. They may look more favorably upon a B in an honors or AP class than an A in a regular class. They're keen on seeing that students are challenging themselves academically during their high school career.

As for converting your GPA, if your school follows a different scale (like out of 100% or 5.0), you would want to convert it into a 4.0 scale. In a simple conversion, an A+ or A (90-100%) is a 4, an A- (85-89%) is 3.7, a B+ (80-84%) is 3.3, and so on.

In terms of tips, aside from maintaining high grades, ensure that you're choosing challenging courses when you can handle them. Also, improving your GPA later in high school can be seen positively, as it shows growth and determination, although it's better to have strong grades throughout. Lastly, remember that the GPA is just one aspect of your application. Your extracurricular activities, essays, and recommendation letters also play a substantial role in the admissions decision. Good luck!
