Hi, currently junior here. I've been eyeing on Providence College. One thing I know is smaller schools are better for me, interaction wise. So, could anyone let me know about the student population at Providence College? Like diversity, student activities, anything really.
Providence College, as you indicated, is a smaller school with a total undergraduate enrollment of approximately 4,800 students. This, in turn, creates a smaller class size and a higher rate of student-faculty interaction which could be advantageous for you.
As for diversity, Providence College is somewhat diverse. According to recent stats, the majority of students come from New England states, particularly Rhode Island and Massachusetts, but students from other parts of the U.S. and different countries also form a considerable part. However, it might be worth noting that the student body does lean heavily towards Caucasian students, making up about 76% of the student body.
As for student activities, there's plenty to occupy your time outside of class. With over 120 student-run clubs and organizations, choices range from performing arts to different cultural and religious student organizations, and service and leadership groups. Providence College also has a very active campus ministry as reflective of its Catholic background, as well as a competitive Big East athletics program if sports are your interest.
I would recommend exploring the official college websites and student reviews for a more personal view on the experiences at Providence College. It's always a good idea to make an informed decision based on your personal requirements and preferences.
