Demographics of Notre Dame

Hi, this might be a strange one, but I'm really curious about the student body at Notre Dame. Does anyone know what the demographics look like, or where I can find such info? I'm hoping to find a diverse environment when I get to college, so this kinda matters to me.

Of course, no question is strange if it helps you make a well-informed decision about your future!

The total undergraduate enrollment at the University of Notre Dame is approximately 9,000. The male-female ratio is generally balanced, being about 51% male and 49% female.

By ethnicity, the student body has been fairly diverse, though the precise figures may vary slightly from year to year. In recent years, roughly 61% of the students identify as white, and the rest of the student body is fairly mixed. About 14% is Hispanic/Latino, 6% Asian, and 4% Black or African American. In addition, there's about 3% who identify as two or more races.

In terms of international students, they comprise about 8% of the undergraduate population.

In terms of religious affiliations, it's worth noting that Notre Dame is a Catholic university, and about 80% of students identify as Catholic. However, students of all faiths are welcome and there are a variety of other religious groups represented on campus as well.

Lastly, Notre Dame welcomes students from all 50 states, though the Midwest does have a noticeable representation given its geographical location.

Remember, it's not just numbers and statistics that matter—it's also how the school fosters an environment where everyone from different backgrounds can feel welcomed and valued. So, it would be a great idea to reach out to current students or alumni to get a feel of the campus culture when it comes to diversity and inclusion.

Do let me know if there's anything else you'd like to know about!
