Need pointers on USC Upstate Tuition

Hey folks, I have my eyes pretty set on USC Upstate. Anyone here know what the current tuition looks like? Trying to figure out if I can maybe get a scholarship or if I would need to get a job while in school.

USC Upstate has different tuition rates depending on whether you're in-state or out-of-state. For the 2024-2025 academic year, in-state tuition is around $11,933 per year, while out-of-state tuition is double that, about $23,435 per year. It's worth noting that these figures don't include room, board and other fees which could be around $12,000 additional per year.

For scholarships, USC Upstate offers several merit-based scholarships for both in-state and out-of-state students that you might qualify for. The awards vary widely in amount, with some offering full tuition. All accepted students are automatically considered for these awards, so no separate application is necessary.

Additionally, don't forget to also fill out your FAFSA. Even if you don't think you'll qualify for aid, it's definitely worth trying. The FAFSA determines eligibility for federal grants, work-study, and low-interest loans. You might be surprised by what you're eligible for!

If you still find yourself falling short financially, getting a part-time job during school is always a possibility, but it's important to consider the demands of your course load as well. You want to ensure you have enough time to dedicate to your studies and extracurriculars. There are often work-study positions offered on campus which can be a great way to earn money while studying, as they usually understand and accommodate your academic schedule.

Be sure to speak to a financial aid counselor at USC Upstate for more specific advice and pathways that could be available to you. Hope you find this information helpful and good luck with your application to USC Upstate!
