FSU Location - Just Confirming

I'm not from the US, but I'm interested in FSU. Just want to make sure, it's in Florida, right? Could anyone tell me more about its location and surrounding area? Thanks heaps!

Yes, FSU refers to Florida State University, and it's located in Tallahassee, the state capital of Florida. FSU's campus lies just west of Downtown Tallahassee making it close to governmental agencies and departments, which can provide ample opportunities for internships, particularly for students interested in politics, public policy, or law.

Tallahassee is known for its hilly terrain, different from what you might traditionally associate with Florida. It offers a blend of southern culture, history, and outdoors activities. The city has a number of museums, parks, and performing arts venues for students to explore. For example, the Museum of Florida History and the Tallahassee Museum are popular spots, and outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the trails in Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park.

The city also has a large concentration of students—FSU shares Tallahassee with several other colleges, including Florida A&M University—so you'll find lots of student-friendly businesses and events in and around town.

Just keep in mind that the city is in the Northern part of the state, so while beaches and amusement parks aren’t right next door, cities like Orlando and towns along the Gulf of Mexico are accessible for weekend trips. The weather is also somewhat distinct from other parts of Florida, with the climate in Tallahassee being a humid subtropical with mild, short winters and hot, wet summers.
