Deployment of Active Duty Military On US Soil

Just ran into this thought and can't seem to find a concrete answer. Can active duty military personnel be deployed on US soil? Would be super helpful if anyone has insights on this.

Active duty military can indeed be deployed on U.S. soil, but typically these deployments are for specific types of functions and under special circumstances.
