Late AP Exam Registration Process?

Hey everyone, so I'm freaking out a bit because I missed the deadline for AP exam registration. Does anyone know if you can still register late for AP exams, and if so, what the process or penalty fees might look like? I'm trying to weigh my options and see if I can still make this happen without it costing an arm and a leg.

Hey there, first of all, take a deep breath—it's not uncommon for students to miss a deadline and there are usually ways to work things out. For late registration of AP exams, you can certainly still try to register, but you should act quickly.

Late registration is typically allowed up until a certain point, although it does involve an additional fee. This fee varies depending on your school and the date of registration, but it can be around $40 extra on top of the standard exam fee.

You'll want to get in touch with the AP Coordinator at your school as soon as possible. Explain your situation and ask if they can accommodate a late registration for you. If your school is unable to help you register late, the AP Coordinator may be able to guide you to an alternative testing site that can accept late registration. Keep in mind, though, that spaces may be limited and additional late fees may apply as you get closer to the exam date.

It's important that you move quickly to contact your AP Coordinator because there is a final deadline after which no further registrations can be accepted. Best of luck, and remember that showing initiative now can help smooth over a missed deadline!
