Thoughts on Provo Colleges?

Hi all, I'm starting to think about which colleges I might apply to next year. I've heard some good things about colleges in Provo. Can anyone share their experiences or any known information about schools in this area that might help?

There are two main universities in Provo, Utah: Brigham Young University (BYU) and Provo College.

Brigham Young University is a private university owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. BYU is known for strong programs in fields such as Accounting, Business, Engineering, and Nursing, and is routinely recognized for its students' volunteer service and foreign language proficiency. Since it's church-owned, students adhere to an honor code, which includes academic honesty, adherence to dress and grooming standards, and abstention from extramarital sexual relations and substance abuse. Many students at BYU are members of the LDS Church, and religious instruction is part of the curriculum, with students required to take religious courses.

On the other hand, Provo College is a smaller, career-focused institution that offers associate and bachelor's degree programs in Healthcare, Business Administration, and Criminal Justice. This could be a good fit if you are looking for a career-oriented education and smaller class sizes.

While considering colleges in Provo, think about your personal comfort in the social and religious environment of BYU if you're considering it. Provo, in general, is a safer city with abundant outdoor recreational activities nearby.

Be sure to also consider other factors such as academic programs, class sizes, faculty, campus facilities, and financial aid while making your decision. My suggestion would be to virtually visit these schools or connect with current students or alumni to gain a personal perspective.
