What's the age cut off for different military branches?

Hi all, I'm considering going into the military after high school. Does anyone know what the age cut-off is for each branch? Do some branches allow older recruits or have flexible age limits?

Each branch of the U.S. military has its own age requirements which refer to the age you need to be when you first join or enlist.

- Army: The U.S. Army accepts recruits aged 17-34. If you're under 18, you'll need parental consent.

- Navy: The U.S. Navy accepts recruits from 17-39. Similar to the Army, applicants who are 17 will need parental consent.

- Air Force: The U.S. Air Force accepts applicants who are 17-39. Applicants who are 17 will need parental consent.

- Marine Corps: The U.S. Marine Corps has a narrower age window, recruiting from ages 17-29. As with the others, if you're under 18, you will need parental consent.

- Coast Guard: For the U.S. Coast Guard, you need to be 17-31 to enlist.

However, these limits might be flexible under certain conditions or for specific roles. Officers tend to have different age requirements, and if you're a healthcare professional or have specialized skills, the age limits can sometimes be extended to allow older applicants. It's best to talk to a recruiter for the specific branch you're interested in to get the most accurate information. Also, keep in mind that these are the maximum beginning ages, not the age at which you must retire or leave the service.
