Male to Female Ratio at Texas Woman's University?

Hello all! I've been looking into Texas Woman's University for a while now and although I do know that it's traditionally a women's college, I am aware that it has been co-ed for some years now. I was wondering if anybody has any info or experiences to share about the male to female ratio. Do males feel left out or is the environment welcoming for everyone?

Hi there! Texas Woman's University (TWU) indeed has a long history as a predominantly females institution, but, yes, it officially has been co-ed for a few years now. According to the latest data, the student body at TWU is about 88% female and 12% male. Of course, these percentages may fluctuate slightly from year to year.

As for your concerns about fitting in, despite the skew towards female students, TWU remains dedicated to promoting an open, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all of its students regardless of gender. It's essential to remember that the sense of belonging often depends more on the individuals, the specific programs they're enrolled in, and the groups they affiliate with, rather than strictly the overall gender balance.

That said, I recommend visiting the campus (if possible), or virtually attending open houses, Q&A sessions, etc. Interacting with current students, speaking with faculty, or reaching out to the admissions office directly can provide a more in-depth understanding of community culture or any specific worries you might have. Always ensure to choose a college where you feel the most comfortable and the best fit for your academic and personal growth. Hope this helps somewhat with your decision-making process and best of luck with your future endeavors!
