Hello! New Haven, Connecticut is home to several universities and colleges where you can pursue your passion for engineering. A standout location for engineering and research is, of course, Yale University. Yale's School of Engineering & Applied Science offers various engineering disciplines where students can engage in diverse research projects.

Yale engineering students have ample opportunities to participate in research, whether it's within the university's extensive research labs, collaborations with faculty on independent projects, or through internships and fellowships. Research opportunities at Yale span various disciplines, including biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, and mechanical engineering, among others.

In terms of research, one program that might be of interest is the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) at Yale. This program offers students the chance to be immersed in a research-focused environment during the summer months.

Remember, one of the keys to maximizing your college research experience is reaching out to faculty members whose work you admire. Don't be shy, professors are typically enthusiastic about guiding future engineers in their research journey.

While Yale is the most well-known university in New Haven, don't forget to check out Southern Connecticut State University and the University of New Haven, both of which also offer engineering programs.
