City Colleges of Chicago Tuition Info?

Hello everyone. I'm considering applying to a few of the City Colleges of Chicago but can't seem to find any definitive info on their tuition fees. Does anyone happen to know where I can find this or perhaps could provide some info? Thanks a bunch!

Sure, I can provide some current information for the City Colleges of Chicago system. The tuition structure for the City Colleges of Chicago is a little different from many other colleges. Basically, their tuition is determined by a few different factors:

1. Residency Status: Costs vary based on whether you're a Chicago resident, a non-Chicago Illinois resident, or an out-of-state resident. Generally, Chicago residents pay the least, while out-of-state students pay the most.

2. Program Type: Some degrees and certificate programs have higher rates because of the additional resources and materials needed.

3. Credit Hours: Tuition at the City Colleges of Chicago is charged per credit hour. So if you're taking more classes or credits in a semester, your tuition will be higher than it would be if you were taking fewer credits.

Coming to numbers, the recent cost per credit hour for Chicago residents is about $153, for non-Chicago Illinois residents, it's around $403, and for out-of-state or international students, it will be approximately $505.

Also, be aware, there may be small variations among the seven institutions under the City Colleges of Chicago. Plus, these are the base tuition rates and do not include fees, books, and supplies which may also add to the total cost. So, I would recommend you to directly reach out to the college you're interested in, as they might be able to give you the most precise and updated information.

Remember that financial aid may help offset some of these costs, so don't forget to complete your FAFSA in order to maximize your aid eligibility.
