Sure, I'd be glad to give you some information about the University of Maryland (UMD). The University of Maryland, College Park, has a sprawling campus that spreads over approximately 1,339 acres. It houses state-of-the-art classrooms, world-class research facilities, a number of popular student hangouts, and pretty much everything you'd expect from a large university.

In terms of student size, UMD is home to roughly 30,000 undergraduates and 10,000 graduate students, so the community is indeed quite large. UMD ranks as one of the nation's largest public research universities, creating a diverse and vibrant student body. This diversity is reflected not only in the wide range of academic programs but also in the student population—from a variety of geographic locations, socioeconomic backgrounds, races, ethnicities, and perspectives.

This size and diversity often translate into a breadth of opportunities. The university boasts a large selection of majors, extracurricular activities, student organizations, and internships. It's not uncommon to have large lecture classes in your first year or two, especially for popular introductory courses, but typically class sizes become more manageable as you progress into more specialized courses in your major.

Remember, while a large university can provide more resources and opportunities, it also requires you to be proactive in seeking out these opportunities. Be ready to take initiative, whether it's seeking help from professors, pursuing internships, or joining student clubs. The size of UMD can be a big advantage if you're ready to navigate it!

Hope this gives you a good idea of what UMD is like in terms of size. If you have more questions, feel free to ask!
