Can someone help with the GPA calculation for Georgia State?

I'm a bit confused about how to calculate my GPA for Georgia State. I've heard different things from different people. Is there a definitive way to do it? Does anyone have a good resource or tool they can share?

Georgia State University, like many colleges, calculates your GPA using a 4-point scale.

1. Each letter grade corresponds to a certain numeric value. For example, an 'A' equals a 4.0, 'B' equals a 3.0, 'C' equals a 2.0, 'D' equals a 1.0, and 'F' equals a 0.

2. To calculate GPA, you would first assign each grade you received a numeric value.

3. After that, for each class, you need to multiply the numeric grade value by the number of credit hours that the class is worth. This gives you the "quality points" for each course.

4. Add up all these quality points, and then divide the sum by the total number of credit hours you've taken.

5. This calculation will give you your GPA.

Keep in mind, AP, Honors, and IB classes do not get extra weight in this calculation. Every school may have a unique GPA scale, so be sure to consult Georgia State University's specific policies as well.

Unfortunately, there aren't any specific GPA calculators that are officially endorsed by Georgia State University, but many generic online GPA calculators should provide accurate results once you input your grades and course credits. Just remember to enter your grades as they are reported on your official transcript, without any extra weight for honors or AP courses.
