How accurate is an online GPA calculator for the University of Arizona?

Hello there, I'm trying to calculate my GPA for the University of Arizona but I'm not sure how accurate online calculators might be. Should I rely on them or is there a more reliable school-provided GPA calculator?

Online GPA calculators can often give you a general idea of your GPA, but they might not always account for the nuances of a particular school's grading scale. The University of Arizona, like many colleges, uses a standard 4.0 scale. However, weights might vary when it comes to honors, AP, or IB classes, and not all online GPA calculators take this into account.

Unfortunately, the University of Arizona doesn’t provide an official GPA calculator that I’m aware of, but, to calculate it yourself accurately, assign each of your grades a point value (A is 4.0, B is 3.0, C is 2.0, D is 1.0, and F is 0.0). If you've taken honors or AP courses, add an additional 0.5 or 1.0 point respectively to those classes. Then, multiply each point value by the number of credit hours the course was worth.

Add up all the point totals and then divide by the total number of credit hours pursued to get your weighted GPA. This is an accurate way to calculate your GPA specifically for the University of Arizona's scale.

Nevertheless, don't stress too much about pinpointing the exact number. Admission authorities consider your GPA trends and overall academic progress in tandem with test scores, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, and essays.
