SAT for Howard University?

Hey fellow high schoolers, I'm considering applying to Howard University and I want to know if there are any SAT score requirements? Or if not, what's their general stance on SAT scores? I appreciate the help!

The most recent data suggests that the middle 50% SAT range for Howard University is roughly between 1060 and 1270. That means approximately 75% of admitted students scored above a 1060, while the top 25% scored above a 1270. Remember, these scores are guidelines, not strict cutoffs.

As far as their stance on the SAT goes, Howard University practices a holistic approach to admissions – they consider not just your SAT scores, but also your GPA, course rigor, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation. They're trying to get a comprehensive understanding of your ability to succeed in both academic and non-academic areas.

Keep in mind that this holistic approach means that lower test scores can be offset by strong performances in other areas – for instance, an impressive array of Tier 2 or Tier 1 extracurriculars or a noticeably rigorous course load can definitely help in making your application competitive. So, your SAT score is an important part of your application, but it’s not the only part that matters. Best of luck with your application!
