Looking for UC Santa Barbara Demographic Info

Is anyone familiar with or have demographic info for UC Santa Barbara? I'm interested to know about ethnic diversity, out-of-state vs. in-state students, etc. Also, what's the campus vibe and culture like generally speaking? Thanks in advance!

Of course, happy to help! UC Santa Barbara is a diverse campus with a vibrant student body. According to the university's official statistics:

- The university has roughly 23,000 undergraduate students, made up of about 35% Hispanic/Latino, 33% White, 17% Asian, and 4% Black students. About 12% of the students are part of two or more races.

- The university is comprised of about 92% in-state (California) students and approximately 8% out-of-state students, with a small but growing international student population.

The campus vibe at UC Santa Barbara is generally very laid-back and collegial. The university is located near the beach, and many students take advantage of the beautiful surroundings for outdoor activities, such as surfing, hiking, and biking. The academic environment is also quite collaborative, not overly competitive, which many students appreciate.

One of the hallmarks of the UC Santa Barbara experience is the strong sense of community. Students often describe the university as having a strong community feel, where camaraderie and mutual support are commonplace. This is likely due in part to the residential nature of the campus - many students live in on-campus or near-campus housing, which helps to foster a tight-knit community.

As far as academics go, UC Santa Barbara has strong programs in various areas including physical sciences, social sciences, and the humanities. The school has an impressive 6 to 1 student to faculty ratio which allows for intimate class sizes and opportunities for students to connect well with their professors.

Remember, these details can provide some insight, but visiting the campus virtually or in person (if possible), talking to current students, or attending virtual events can also give a deeper understanding of the school's environment and culture. Let me know if there's anything else you're curious about!
