Anyone has insights on demographics at Texas A&M University?

Hey everyone, I'm seriously considering Texas A&M for my further studies. But, before I make a decision, I would like to know more about the student demographics there. Could any current students or alumni shed some light on this? Appreciate your help!

Certainly, Texas A&M University has a diverse student population, albeit somewhat skewed due to its history as a traditional military college. Of the almost 70,000 students, the undergraduate population is approximately 53,791.

Male students slightly outnumber female students, with about 52.5% male and 47.5% female. Race and ethnicity data shows a fair amount of diversity as well with 61.4% of the students identifying as white, 20.9% Hispanic, 3.5% Black, and 6.3% Asian. The remaining percentage includes students of two or more races, non-residents, or those who did not disclose their race or ethnicity.

The university is also home to a large number of international students. Roughly 5,000 international students, from over hundred different countries, are part of the Aggie community. These students contribute to the rich cultural diversity on campus and the university takes pride in the global perspective they bring to the institution. Interestingly, Texas A&M's College Station campus has one of the largest student populations in the United States.

On another note, the university takes pride in its military history and traditions. The Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M is one of the largest uniformed student bodies outside the service academies, with over 2,300 cadets. It's also important to note that despite the sizeable presence of the Corps, participation in the Corps of Cadets is not a requirement for students.

Hope this information helps in your decision-making process! In the end, keep in mind that getting a feel for campus culture can also greatly benefit from a campus visit or virtual tour.
