Out-of-state Tuition costs for universities in Kentucky

Hi folks! Non-Kentucky resident here considering some colleges in the state. Can anybody here share some insight about the average out-of-state tuition for universities in Kentucky? Also, is it usually a big leap from the in-state tuition?

Out-of-state tuition does tend to be higher than in-state tuition, and this is true for universities in Kentucky as well. The costs can vary significantly between universities.

For example, the University of Kentucky, a public institution, has an out-of-state tuition of approximately $34,140 per year for undergraduate students. Meanwhile, in-state tuition is around $13,502. So, you can see there's a considerable difference.

On the other hand, private institutions such as Bellarmine University have the same tuition for all students, regardless of residency status. For the 2024 - 2025 academic year, tuition at Bellarmine University is around $48,770.

It's important to keep in mind these costs are for tuition only and do not include other expenses such as housing, meals, books, and personal expenses.

When considering the cost, you should also check if the universities offer any scholarships or financial aid for out-of-state students. Some schools might have scholarships specifically for out-of-state students. These can greatly help in offsetting the cost difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition. You can usually find this information on the financial aid page of the college's website, or you can reach out to the financial aid office directly.

Keep in mind that tuition costs can change from year to year, so it's important to verify the current costs with each university.
