Hey guys, it's junior year and I'm starting to put together my list of reach, match, and safety schools. One school I'm interested in is Alabama State. Does anybody know what the competition is like to get in and what kind of majors they offer?
Alabama State University is generally considered to be less competitive. According to CollegeData, in a recent year, the acceptance rate at Alabama State was around 98%, meaning the vast majority of applicants were offered admission. The average GPA of admitted students was around 2.9 on a 4.0 scale, and the average SAT score (ERW+M) was around 954 out of 1600.
As for the majors, Alabama State has a wide variety of offerings across different fields. They offer majors in numerous disciplines such as Business Administration, Elementary Education, Health Sciences, and many others. They are particularly well-known for their programs in health professions, like rehabilitation services, health information management, and occupational therapy. The College of Visual and Performing Arts is also recognized for its strong programs in music, theatre, visual arts, and dance.
Keep in mind that every admission process is a bit different, and they could take other factors into account besides grades and test scores. Be sure to put effort into your application, personal essay, and any additional requirements the individual major may have.
