Hello everyone! University of Florida is on my shortlist for potential colleges. Before I make my decision, I'd like to know how big the university is in terms of student population? I'd like to have a good balance of meeting a lot of new people but not feel overwhelmed by its size. Thanks heaps!
The University of Florida, often known as UF, is indeed a pretty big university. As of Fall 2023, the total undergraduate enrollment was approximately 35,000.
It's large enough that you'll constantly meet new people and have the option to join a diverse range of clubs, activities, and social circles, but it's not so immense that you'll feel like just another face in the crowd. Thanks to the block-style campus structure, things still feel relatively intimate. Also, once you find your academic track or communities that resonate with you, the size of the campus tends to feel more manageable.
Remember, a larger student population means more opportunities to engage with a diverse range of students, perspectives, and experiences. Plus, there are tons of resources on campus to help you feel at home. Best of luck with your college decision-making journey!
