What's the cost for out-of-state students at University of Denver?

Hey all, I've been looking at the University of Denver for a while now and I'm seriously considering applying. However, I'm a bit concerned about the financial aspect. I'm from the Midwest, so I would be an out-of-state student. Has anybody got any info about the overall out-of-state tuition? Thanks a lot!

The University of Denver, like many private institutions, doesn't differentiate fees based on in-state or out-of-state residency. Therefore, whatever cost you see listed for tuition and fees will apply to you regardless of whether you're from Colorado or an out-of-state student.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, the total tuition cost at the University of Denver is about $60,048 without including things like room and board, books, and personal expenses. If we add those in, the total cost swells to approximately $82,634.

However, bear in mind that this is the "sticker price" - the price before financial aid is applied. University of Denver is known for providing generous financial aid to its students. About 88% of full-time undergraduate students at the University of Denver receive some kind of need-based financial aid, and the average amount is around $30,157. Therefore, while the raw numbers might seem overwhelming, the actual cost you will pay can be considerably less, depending on your family's financial situation.

I'd recommend using the net price calculator available on Denver's financial aid website to get a more accurate estimate (https://www.du.edu/admission-aid/financial-aid-scholarships/undergraduate-financial-aid/price-and-affordability/npc). It takes around 10 minutes to complete and can offer a more realistic projection based upon your specific circumstances and needs.

Keep in mind that financial aid pathways can include a mix of federal, state, and institutional grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study opportunities. If you have excelled in high school, you may also be eligible for merit-based scholarships from Denver University, which can reduce the cost further.

I hope this helps!
