Need help with info on U of M TC tuition!

Hey folks, I'm working on my college list and U of M TC has caught my eye. But I'm having difficulty finding solid numbers on their tuition - for both in-state and out-of-state students. Are there any other costs I should be bearing in mind? I’d appreciate any and all advice!

Sure, I'd be glad to help you out with some numbers.

As per the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (U of M TC), the figures for tuition and fees for the 2024-2025 academic year are around $17,370 for in-state students and $38,518 for out-of-state students. Keep in mind that this is just for tuition and mandatory fees.

Aside from tuition, you'll also need to consider a few other costs:

1. Room and Board: If you're planning to live on campus, room and board costs are quite considerable. This includes both your housing as well as your meal plan. From their official site, the cost is estimated to be around $13,856 per year.

2. Books and Supplies: Expect to spend around $1,000 annually on textbooks and other necessary academic supplies. This can vary depending on the courses you take.

3. Personal and Miscellaneous expenses: These are typically variable costs which include laundry, cell phone bills, personal hygiene, and entertainment. The university estimates these costs at around $2,000 per year.

4. Travel: Depending on how far you live from the campus and how often you plan on visiting home, you might want to account for travel expenses.

Remember these are all estimated costs, the actual amounts could vary. You should also account for potential increases in tuition and other costs over time due to inflation and other factors. Don't forget about financial aid – apply for FAFSA, look into scholarships, and work-study options to help offset these costs.
