I’ve heard different things about the PSAT format and I’m a bit confused. For those who have taken it, is the PSAT administered on paper or do we take it on a computer? Just trying to figure out what I should be prepping for. Thanks!
Hello there! I'm glad to see you're planning ahead for the PSAT. The PSAT used to be administered on paper. Students would typically fill out their answers on a scantron sheet using a No. 2 pencil. It's a format many are used to from other standardized tests and in-school assessments.
However, the College Board, which administers the PSAT, moved to a digital format in fall 2023. You can learn more here, as well as get some practice digital questions: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt
As for prep, practicing with paper-and-pencil can still be quite beneficial, as it helps you get used to the style of questions and time management, regardless of the eventual format. There are also plenty of online PSAT practice tools, like those on the College Board site, that can simulate a digital testing experience. Good luck with your preparation!
