UB GPA Calculator?

Hey guys, I'm a current junior and seriously considering University at Buffalo (UB) as one of my top choices. But, I can't seem to find their GPA calculator. Anybody knows where I can find it? Thanks in advance!

Hello there!

University at Buffalo does not offer a specific tool for calculating GPA; rather, they adhere to a standard 4.0 GPA scale, which is common among many U.S. colleges and universities.

To calculate your GPA based on this system:

1. Assign each grade a point value. (A = 4, B = 3, C= 2, D = 1, F = 0)

2. Then assign each of your classes a credit value (usually it's 1 credit per class).

3. Multiply each class grade's points by the credit value.

4. Sum all of these values up and then divide by the total number of credits.

While it can be helpful to calculate your GPA this way, remember that the admissions office will likely look at your unweighted GPA (where all classes, regardless of rigor, are graded on a 4.0 scale) and your weighted GPA (where advanced classes like AP or IB courses are graded on a 5.0 scale) to get a balanced perspective of your academic achievements.

The most important thing to keep in mind is not just your GPA itself, but also the level of rigor in your coursework. Universities like UB appreciate seeing students challenge themselves with advanced courses when available. So, continue doing your best in your classes, and good luck with your application!
