Which branch does the Green Beret belong to in the Military?

In the process of exploring my post-graduation options and I'm drawn to the prestige of being a 'Green Beret'. I'm still unsure about which branch of the military it belongs to. Any input or perspective?

The Green Berets, officially known as the U.S. Army Special Forces, are part of the United States Army. They are a special operations force tasked with five primary missions: unconventional warfare, foreign internal defense, special reconnaissance, direct action, and counter-terrorism. Becoming a Green Beret requires exceptional physical fitness, mental resilience, and the ability to successfully complete one of the Army's most demanding training programs, the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC), colloquially known as "Q Course." Their motto, "De Oppresso Liber," translates to "To Liberate the Oppressed," reflecting their commitment to assisting in conflict zones worldwide.

The prestige associated with becoming a Green Beret is indeed significant due to the rigorous selection process and specialized training. If you're drawn to this option, be prepared for intense physical, academic, and tactical preparation, along with a strong commitment to advance U.S. strategic objectives overseas. It is a demanding but rewarding choice for those who decide to pursue this path. Keep in mind, though, that Green Berets often work in difficult and dangerous conditions, so it's a decision that should be weighed very carefully with a thorough understanding of the responsibilities involved.
