Least Physically Demanding Military Branch?

Hey, I'm exploring my options post high-school and thought about the military. However, I'm not particularly athletic. Can anyone clue me in on the least physically demanding branch of the military?

In the U.S. military, the branch often seen as the least physically demanding is the Air Force. They have the lowest basic training physical fitness requirements and less emphasis on physical readiness testing once you're through basic. However, this does not mean you won't still be expected to maintain a certain level of fitness, which will be assessed by regular Physical Fitness Tests (PFT). These usually include a combination of push-ups, sit-ups, and running.

Nevertheless, it's worth noting that military service in any branch is not entirely about physical strength. Other factors like aptitude for learning specific job skills, adaptability, and holding up under stress are equally important, if not more so. Therefore, BMT (Basic Military Training) also involves studying and understanding general military customs, courtesies, history, and core values.

In conclusion, if you're focused on physical demands, the Air Force might appear the least rigorous, but joining the military always involves a degree of physical commitment. If you're not currently very athletic, training to prepare for the basic physical fitness requirements would be a good start. Remember, fitness is just one aspect of serving in the military. Mental strength, resilience, and commitment are just as important. Consider these aspects and research each branch's demands and benefits to make an informed decision that suits your personal abilities and aspirations.
