SHSU GPA Calculator

Hi guys! Does Sam Houston State University have a GPA calculator that I can use to figure out my semester and cumulative GPA? I can't seem to find one on their website.

Hello! It's quite common for university websites to not feature a specific GPA calculator. However, you can use generic online GPA calculators to figure out your semester and cumulative GPA in only a few steps.

Here's a simplified method to calculate your GPA manually:

1. Convert each grade into its numerical equivalent. Most universities use a 4.0 scale, so for instance, an A would be a 4.0, B a 3.0, C a 2.0, and so on.

2. Multiply the grade points for each class by the number of credit hours the class is worth. This gives you the total number of quality points.

3. Add up all the quality points.

4. Add up all the credit hours.

5. Finally, divide the total quality points by the total credit hours to get your GPA.

It's advisable to double-check the actual GPA scale employed by your university as this can vary. Also, please be aware that certain universities (or certain high-end courses) count an A+ as a 4.33, so just check the grading scale Sam Houston State University uses.

Finally, you should be able to verify your calculated GPA with the official one provided by your university to reconcile any difference. Your official GPA is typically visible on your transcript or accessible through your university's online portal.

Hope this helps! If you need any more clarification or guidance, don't hesitate to ask.
