VT GPA Calculator: Does It Exist?

Hi everyone, I'm trying to calculate my GPA for Virginia Tech, is there some kind of official VT GPA calculator I can use?

Virginia Tech doesn't provide an official GPA calculator tool that you can use to evaluate your GPA according to its scale. However, you can make use of the general 4.0 scale to calculate your GPA. This involves assigning each grade you received in a course a certain point value (typically, A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, F=0.0) and then averaging these according to how many credits each course was worth.

For example, if you took a 3-credit course and earned an A (4.0), that course would contribute 12 points (3 x 4.0) towards your GPA. You would calculate this for all your courses and then divide by the total number of credits to get your GPA.

It's important to note that some high schools use a weighted GPA scale, where honors or AP classes might have a maximum point value of 5.0 instead of 4.0. If this is the case for you, you should ask Virginia Tech's admissions office how they recalculate weighted GPAs.

Ultimately, this is just a rough calculation - you'll need to consider the fact that different institutions may calculate GPAs differently. For a precise GPA as evaluated by Virginia Tech, you'd likely have to reach out to their admissions office directly.
