Grades Conversion: What percentage does a 'C' letter grade represent?

Hey, y'all. My grades just came in and I got a C in one of my classes. Does anyone know the percentage range for a 'C' letter grade? Does this hurt my chances of getting into a good college?

In most high schools in the U.S., a 'C' letter grade typically represents a percentage range between 70% and 79%. However, this can vary slightly depending on your school's grading policy so I would recommend you to check with your teacher or school for the most accurate information.

It's important to know that one 'C' grade isn't a deal-breaker when it comes to college admissions, especially if it's not in a course related to your intended major. Colleges are more interested in seeing a strong overall GPA and an upward trend in grades. It may also be beneficial if the 'C' is in a class that is notoriously difficult or is at a higher level (like an AP or Honors class).

Admissions officers understand that everyone has off semesters and can recover from them. If the rest of your academic performance is solid and you have some strong extracurriculars, don't worry too much about one lower grade. Besides, you can address any major dips in academic performance in the additional information section of your application if you feel it's necessary. For example, if you had a personal or family issue that semester which affected your grade, colleges would be understanding of that.

Remember to learn from this experience and apply yourself with even more determination in the future. It's never too late to improve and grow!
